OMG! Crunch time

The reason I have not updated and probably will not update regularly in the next few weeks is one familiar to both you and me and anyone else who has ever procrastinated. I have an enormous research paper due the week after Thanksgiving, and I have only just begun to research it in the hopes of getting a draft written this weekend.

"What's the problem?" you ask. "Aren't you good at working under pressure, knocking things out and generally succeeding where others fail?"

You are too kind.

Of course this situation would be tough at any time: giving oneself a deadline a week away for a paper of significant length (10-15 pages) is asking a lot. It is only asking more that my topic, dutifully suggested by the professor, has absolutely zero books actually written about it. All of my research must be peripheral, combing stacks of dusty tomes little actual relevance to my topic and NO actual relevance to real life.

Sigh. It's going to be a long, long weekend.
